<reviewbody>Ryan at The Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom sounds like it was a great show. This one translates well from tape. Some of his banter is inspired, while some is just vintage Ryan. I really liked the banter before Rosebud, a nice story from Ryan here.
Set list is great.
A good Cold Roses into a great Birdsong. Set I closing with Come Pick Me Up. Very nice indeed.

Set II is remarkable with two versions of Let It Ride. The second with Rachel Yamagata singing harmony back-up. Probably the song of the night, even though it was played just moments before. The show just keeps getting better for the rest of the second set. Ending with the aforementioned Rosebud.

This show closes with a not quite good improv song about Hampton Beach, NH. (Though it tried real hard, at first) The first verse of which reminds me of the album cover for Neil Young's "On The Beach" for some weird reason.
The sad thing is there is a seed to a good song there, but toward the middle you could tell he was just goofin'
Great show, probably my favorite from the first leg of the 2005 tour.

Sound is really nice, Matrix with just enough aud to make out the atmosphere in the room.

Download this one, it's a keeper.
